Finding Quality Industrial Weighing Equipment

Find Out More About:

byAlma Abell

Finding the right weighing scales for business should be simple and, in many cases, it is. However, finding a high quality weighing scale manufacturer is also important when it comes to finding the right scales for your business. In many industries, the weighing process is an essential part of the firm’s core business, so making the right choices and the right investment is advisable.

Industry specialists

Industrial scales come in all shapes and sizes and are designed to suit a huge range of industries. Some weighing scale manufacturers operate in specific industries – medical, scientific or food processing – while others operate across a range of industries. The latter can be a sensible choice for most industries as this means the firm should have the knowledge, experience and expertise to help you choose the right scales for your process.

Ongoing support

Many manufacturers offer maintenance and servicing options; for those who rely on their weighing equipment for day to day operational purposes this can be a significant factor in choosing the right manufacturer. Constant use is likely to mean regular maintenance checks are required and repairs will also be needed on an occasional basis. Given that industrial scales are likely to be a significant investment, it’s worth ensuring your scales remain in perfect working order.

Future proofing

There are several factors that will influence the capacity of scale that you’ll need. As an investment, it’s worth choosing a capacity that is higher than your current needs. This has two advantages; firstly it offers flexibility if load requirements change in the future and secondly it avoids overloading scales on a regular basis (and consequent damage or loss of accuracy).

Reputation counts

The quality of a manufacturer’s products and their reputation and experience within the industry are essential factors to consider when choosing the right firm to supply your weight equipment needs. While it’s likely that well respected and experienced firms may offer more expensive solutions, it’s important to remember that your scales are likely to be essential to your ability to make profit and that their lifespan is a crucial aspect of the purchasing decision.

Specialist knowledge

Today most firms will offer a range of scales and weighing equipment that can work within automated process. A firm that has experience and technical knowledge in this field will be essential if this is a requirement of your process.

The bottom line

While price will, in many cases, be a significant factor, weighing equipment can be a crucial element within your process and, as in so many areas in life, paying the highest price is likely to make for the best long term investment.

Hardy Process Solutions is headquartered in San Diego, California and the firm is renowned for its inyears.

This article features in a News Brief from Audio Wikinews:

Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has confirmed that his son Abhishek and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai were engaged last evening at a private ceremony at the Bachchans’ residence in Mumbai.

It is believed that the younger Bachchan proposed to his bride-to-be in New York, soon after the Toronto premiere of his new movie Guru. The media had been following the romance between the two closely for some time past, but this is the first time they have come out in the open about their relationship. Rumours that the couple were planning to spread the know began to spread in November last year, when they visited the Sankat Mochan Temple together, with some even saying that they had already been married even earlier at the Meenakshi temple in Madurai

According to one daily, the wedding will take place either on February 19 or March 7 at the Hyatt Mumbai. “The children have decided. We are very happy and thought we should go ahead with the ‘roka’ ceremony. It was held in the evening.”, Amitabh Bachchan said of the ceremony, which was attended by the family’s close friends, including Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, Aishwarya’s parents, and industrialist Anil Ambani and the latter’s wife Tina Ambani. The couple have now flown to Ujjain to take a holy dip in the Ganga.

American athlete Marion Jones tests positive for EPO

Sunday, August 20, 2006

Correction — January 23, 2006 Cyclist Floyd Landis failed a drugs test for the hormone testesterone, not adrenaline as reported in the article.

Track Star Marion Jones, winner of 3 gold medals in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, has tested positive for the performance enhancing drug, EPO. The hormone helps create extra red blood cells which allows the user’s body to absorb extra oxygen.

Jones was expected to compete in yesterday’s Golden League meet in Zurich, Switzerland, but left early in the morning for “personal reasons.” It was announced earlier today (UTC) that she had tested positive for EPO. Jones faces a two year ban if her B test sample comes back positive.

Jones has a history of association with steroid users and dealers. In 1999, her then husband CJ Hunter tested positive for a similar drug, Nandralone. He had to withdraw from the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and received a two year ban.

Jones later divorced him, and in 2002 started a relationship with another track star, Tim Montgomery, who were both coached by Trevor Grahm.

Montgomery set a record in the 100 meter sprint of 9.78 seconds at a race in Paris that year. He was banned for two years and stripped of his record due to evidence in the Federal BALCO investigation. In the BALCO investigation, several witnesses stated that Marion Jones was taking banned substances received from BALCO.

Jones’ coach, Grahm, has been involved with 10 other athletes that tested positive and were ultimately banned for the use of illegal substances. Justin Gatlin, also coached by Grahm, also tested positive for artificial Testosterone, but has not been banned or stripped of his record.

Another American athlete, cyclist Floyd Landis tested positive for excessive levels of adrenaline after winning the Tour-de-France, which may lead to him being the first winner in the tournament’s history to be stripped of the title.

George Bush: Rescue plan will get through

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

George W. Bush vowed to get the USD 700 billion economic rescue plan through congress in a statement to the media made today.

“Yesterday, the House of Representatives voted on a financial rescue plan that had been negotiated by Congressional leaders of both parties and my administration,” Bush reminded the audience. “Unfortunately, the measure was defeated by a narrow margin. I’m disappointed by the outcome, but I assure our citizens and citizens around the world that this is not the end of the legislative process.”

“Producing legislation is complicated, and it can be contentious. It matters little what a path a bill takes to become law,” he continued. “We’re at a critical moment for our economy, and we need legislation that decisively address the troubled assets now clogging the financial system, helps lenders resume the flow of credit to consumers and businesses, and allows the American economy to get moving again.”

“I recognize this is a difficult vote for members of Congress. Many of them don’t like the fact that our economy has reached this point, and I understand that. But the reality is that we are in an urgent situation, and the consequences will grow worse each day if we do not act. The dramatic drop in the stock market that we saw yesterday will have a direct impact on the retirement accounts, pension funds, and personal savings of millions of our citizens. And if our nation continues on this course, the economic damage will be painful and lasting.”World and US markets today are up after severe declines yesterday. Most have recovered 30% of their previous losses, meaning that the potential government expenditure was similar to the market losses.

Bush then said that he knows “many Americans are especially worried about the cost of the legislation.” He then attempted to justify the cost. “The bill the House considered yesterday commits up to 700 billion taxpayer dollars to purchase troubled assets from banks and other financial institutions. That, no question, is a large amount of money. We’re also dealing with a large problem. But to put that in perspective, the drop in the stock market yesterday represented more than a trillion dollars in losses.”

If passed, the bailout plan would have allowed for the United States government to purchase devalued mortgage backed securities, resulting from the subprime mortgage crisis, from troubled financial institutions. The US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said the plan could cost up to $700 billion.

Even Dog Washing Businesses Have Websites

April 21st, 2018 in Marketing | No Comments

    By M6.Net Web Hosting

If you have a business and haven’t got a website on the Internet, you’re pretty much crazy. I don’t want to sound judgmental but you must be either really behind the times, or just plain scared to get yourself onto the Web. If it is the latter, the fear is an irrational one, having a website is only going to do great things for your life. Have you seen how many computers there are in the world today? Look at how much they’ve now been integrated into everyday human culture and society. Everywhere you go there are Internet cafes and computer retailers, people with mini-computers on the train, or laptops at the local park (receiving wireless broadband Internet). If you can’t see, hear, taste, smell, and feel the opportunity in having a website for every one of your potential customers to visit, you must be catatonic, drunk, or insane. If you truly do fall into one of these three categories, I’m really sorry, but if one day you do find a balanced state of life again, please check out the Internet and see what it is doing for people all around the world.

OK, let’s give you an example of how this works. Say you own a small dog washing business. You’ve got a good client-base built simply from an advertisement in the Yellow Pages and from people seeing your shopfront on the street. You make a good living, so why would you want or need to get a website? First of all, there’s nothing even remotely technical about washing a dog. Humans have been washing stinky canines ever since they started to breed them into the wide range of freaks that exist today (you tell me that a bulldog sitting next to a Chihuahua and a St. Bernard doesn’t mess with your head). The computer doesn’t help you scrub, people, it helps you to get more dogs to scrub. You’re probably thinking, ‘I’d be the only idiot alive stupid enough to think that I’d get any more customers by putting up a dog washing website on the Internet.’ Well, check these out, they are but a few of the multitude around the world that came up when I typed the words ‘dog wash’ into my search engine (Google): http://www.dogwash.com/, http://www.dogwash.net/, http://www.southbark.com/home.htm, http://www.dogwashnyc.com/, http://barebonesdogwash.com/, http://www.bugsie.co.uk/, http://www.petwash.com/main.htm, http://www.pet.net.au/rumpoles/dogwash.htm, http://www.dogwashing.com.au/

    http://www.scrubadubdog.net/home.html.

You see, you’re not crazy to think it might work. Put simply, it does. Why would so many different people have put their dog wash businesses online? Check these sites out and see what they look like. You can get a pretty good idea of the many ways that you can construct your site, from the very simple to the quite elaborate. One point you might want to notice is how each site is totally individualistic. Websites are an opportunity to express your unique cultural approach to your business. For example, you might want to get the wealthier side of town to bring their pooches to your shop. What’s going to attract them? An intelligent site with an elegant atmosphere could be a start. Maybe you’d use gold or maroon background colours, high quality photos of super-clean dogs posing next to Rolls Royce’s and Ferraris, and have text that gives elaborate detail as to how far you go when you groom an animal- E.G. Doggie manicures and massage?

Maybe you want your site to be fun and friendly. You could put up lots of colourful images, plus photos of laughing kids having fun spraying foamy soap on both the dogs and all over themselves. You could put up an offer that if they mention your website when they visit in-person, both the dog and the kids get a special treat (hopefully not the same one!). Are you getting the message people? Having a website for your business gives you an opportunity to share more of your self and your creativity with your potential customer-base. It’s a chance to show them who you are, why you’re different from others, and why you’re the best place to go for that specific product.

The other main reason and the most obvious one to get a website is the fact that you’ll be able to cover a massively wider sector of human society than you currently get in contact with. Anyone who has access to a computer and who is interested in your area of expertise can find you through a simple search on the Internet. That’s how it’s done today, everything else is deemed old-fashioned. If we want to know more about anything at all in life, we plug in and connect to that ultimate database of information and communication. Two of the main reasons people use the Web is to find out about a business, or to advertise and share their own business with those who are searching for a service or product. If your luggage shop isn’t found online, let me tell you that there are droves of travellers who are flying by your shop for ‘greener pastures’. They simply don’t know you exist anymore; they’re going to the nearest shop with the coolest website.

Toyota poised to recall 270,000 Prius vehicles
April 21st, 2018 in Uncategorized | No Comments

    Friday, February 5, 2010

Japan’s Nikkei newspaper reported that Toyota is poised to recall 270 thousand gas-and-electric Prius vehicles (model ZVW30) sold in the US and Japan between May and December 2009, due to a flaw in the car’s anti-lock braking system.

Takayuki Fujimoto, a transport ministry official, said the government has yet to receive a recall notice from Toyota. “Nothing has been decided on whether we will recall or not”, he stated. Toyota cannot announce a recall in Japan until it notifies the ministry, but said it was currently discussing how to deal with the issue with Japan’s transport ministry and U.S. safety authorities.

Toyota has faced a US lawsuit alleging it covered up safety problems. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched a formal investigation into the braking problems on Thursday after 124 complaints from consumers.

Since May 2009, two hundred thousand new Prius cars (model ZVW30) have been sold in Japan and another 103,200 in the United States.

How To Determine If Your House Needs Roof Repairs In Colorado Springs

April 20th, 2018 in Alkaline Water | No Comments

    byalex

When you own a home, knowing when it’s time to take care of business is one thing that can help save you some time and money. As far as your roof is concerned, the time to take care of problems is before they’re fully developed. But how do you know when it’s time to invest in roof repairs in Colorado Springs? This article will offer a few suggestions that may help you determine when it’s time to hire a roofing company.

First and foremost, it’s worth mentioning that getting up on your own roof can be dangerous. Especially if you have a steep roof, one that is old or covered in ice or snow, hopping up onto your roof may not be the wisest of decisions. So, before grabbing the ladder, taking a few moments to assess your personal risk is a good way to stay safe.

Being above your line of sight, it’s easy to forget about your roof at times. It is because of this that many problems go on to become big ones. However, when you are thinking about your roof, you can watch out for things like shingles that have blown off into your yard, or increased amounts of roofing materials in your rain gutters. What may seem like a small problem could actually be just a symptom of something bigger. So, if you’ve noticed these types of things, contacting a company qualified to handle roof repairs in Colorado Springs may be a good idea.

Sometimes, your roof’s condition will be apparent from the inside of your home. If you notice water stains, sagging, or cracks in your ceiling there’s a good chance that your roof is to blame. Damaged roofs often allow water and pests to get beneath their once protective surface. Avoiding roof repairs in Colorado Springs when you are aware that there is a problem can result in large financial snags later on down the road.

When it comes to roof repairs in Colorado Springs, prevention is usually your best game plan. If you haven’t had your roof repaired in quite some time, have an older home, or have recently experienced a big storm, contacting a roofing company to check things out can save you trouble down the road.

Are you looking for quality roof repairs in Colorado Springs? Aspen Roofing Inc provides professional roof repair and installation services at competitive costs.

Kentucky faith-based agency under fire for religious coercion

    ">
Kentucky faith-based agency under fire for religious coercion
April 20th, 2018 in Uncategorized | No Comments

    Saturday, May 5, 2007

A lawsuit filed by a former employee of Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children (now Sunrise Children’s Services) and four other tax-payers, has shed light on the possibility of religious coercion by the organization. The lawsuit challenges the faith-based agency’s eligibility for state funds.

Specifically, interviews of children conducted by the state of Kentucky have revealed complaints from some of the children. Mainly, children who said they were Catholic, Pentecostal, Jehovah’s Witnesses or atheist voiced complaints in the interviews.

“They tried to more [or] less force me to become a Christian,” said one child in an exit interview. “I just felt I was being pressured into giving up my religion.”

Another child reported s/he was “not allowed to choose when or when not to attend a religious service,” per the interview, and was told “‘to do’ some type of Bible study during that time or get consequences.”

Both the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Sunrise say there is a strict policy against proselytizing in the program and that it does not prevent children from practising their individual faiths.

They also stress that these complaints number merely a “handful” among the approximately 1,500 children that are served by the faith-based agency.

“If a child says, ‘I don’t want to go to the Baptist church,’ then the child does not go,” Jonathan Goldberg, the state’s attorney, said. Some children might have mistankenly believed they were forced to go, he added.

The plaintiffs are seeking to have the interviews unsealed, at least in the cases where the child is now 18 years of age or older. The state and Sunrise argue they need to be kept confidential.

The lawsuit originated with Alicia Pedreira, who was fired in 2000. She alleges her firing was direct result of Sunrise (then Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children) finding out she is a lesbian.

Sunrise Children’s Services provides residential programs and foster care homes for children that have suffered abuse or neglect. Since 2001, Kentucky has paid Sunrise US$61 million to provide the services for children who would otherwise be in direct state custody.

In 2001, the state did find cause for action against one of Sunrise’s homes to fix “a coercive religious environment” where staff members confirmed that church attendance was required.

With accusations of undue pressure by a Christian agency funded by the state, the Sunrise case bears some similitude to the lawsuit against Iowa for paying Chuck Colson’s evangelical agency to run part of its prison.

Last June, U.S. District Judge Robert W. Pratt strongly reprimanded and ruled against Iowa’s use of a Christian social service agency to administer its prison. Judge Pratt stated: “For all practical purposes, the state has literally established an Evangelical Christian congregation within the walls of one of its penal institutions… There are no adequate safeguards present, nor could there be, to ensure that state funds are not being directly spent to indoctrinate Iowa inmates.”

The Iowa ruling is pending appeal.

Critics point to both of these cases as failures of George W. Bush’s faith-based services initiative. The program is often seen as conflicting with the tradition of separation of church and state in the United States.

Currently, there are blackouts, heavy rain, and high winds in British Columbia. Over 220,000 BC Hydro customers have no power. Buildings have already collapsed and trees have been knowed down. Five Vancouver rivers were in danger of flooding, which rain fell at 10 mm an hour for more than six hours at midday.

The steel frame of a four-storey building under construction in Vancouver collapsed. Construction workers escaped injury, luckily they were on a coffee break at the time of the incident. The steel frame crushed cars in a parking lot and missed a truck driver.

Citizens had to evacuate a subdivision of 30 homes. The winds smashed trees into houses in West Vancouver.

“We have some real fears here with electrical problems,” said Captain Rob Jones Cook of the Vancouver Fire Department. “This is impinging on electrical poles and lamp standards. We also have hydro bus lines running down two sides of the building.” The Vancouver Fire Department says they have no idea as to why the building collapsed.

Winds are gusting at more than 100 kilometres an hour (62 mph) in some areas and rainfall amounts of 50 to 130 millimetres.

According BC Hydro spokeswoman Elisha Moreno, the hardest-hit areas are Vancouver, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford and Mission, B.C. “We’re trying to be optimistic and hoping it’s by end of day today, but there may very well be customers that are into the early-morning hours before restoration,” Moreno said.

Extensive ferry cancellations, road closures, and massive power outages are in effect until the storm ends.

The RCMP have advised people to stay home and off the highway.

The same heavy weather has also affected nearby Washington State, USA.
